A unique pigment is created for and matched to each patient based on their natural skin color. Scars begin to blend with the rest of the skin after several sessions.
The procedure has also been used to provide the finishing touches for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. Technicians skillfully re-pigment the nipples and the areola onto the reconstructed breast tissue after expertly determining the most natural looking size and shape of the areola, while matching the colors to the patient's own skin tones.
